Safeguarding and E-Safety
Safeguarding Children is everyone’s responsibility
Safeguarding is at the centre of all we do here at Queniborough CE Primary School. Safeguarding our children is the responsibility of all staff in our school.
We are proud to work successfully in partnership with families and professional services to support our pupils.
Our comprehensive safeguarding policy is available below. This is supported by our anti-bullying and behaviour policies, also found in the policies tab.

Operation Encompass
Our school is part of Operation Encompass. This is a police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people.
Building upon the national success of Operation Encompass (Police in all 43 forces in England and Wales sharing information with schools about children experiencing domestic abuse) Leicestershire police are expanding the information that they are sharing confidentially with the safeguarding leads in Leicestershire schools.
From the 19th of September 2022 they have begun a phased rollout across the Police Force sharing with us incidents that they have attended where they feel there has been an impact upon a child’s physical, emotional or mental well-being. This information is shared so that our school can better understand children’s living experience and can support, nurture and care for them more effectively.

E-safety
E-Safety at Queniborough CE Primary School
We are committed to ensuring that all pupils will be able to use new technologies safely. We are also committed to ensuring that all of those who work with children and young people, as well as their parents, are informed about the risks that exist, so that they can take an active part in safeguarding children.
E-safety is taught comprehensively through our computing lessons but is also highlighted during safer Internet day in February each year.

Warning Zone
Our Year 6 children visit the Warning Zone in Leicester every year.
The E-Safety Zone teaches children about staying safe when using the internet. Whether playing online games, sharing photos or using social media, there are risks facing children online. They focus on teaching children at a key transition in their life, when they are on the verge of becoming adolescents and young adults. They aim to teach these vital messages when they are younger so they can make more informed decisions about what they do online in future years.
This facility is the first of its kind in the UK – teaching this important subject using interactive, impactful methods. Students will participate in six different activities during their visit, each led by an expert volunteer guide.
Subjects discussed in the E-Safety Zone include:
- The importance of having a trusted adult to talk to
- Online grooming
- Cyber bullying & trolling
- Protecting personal information
- Sharing images and digital footprints
- Online phishing (scamming)
- Internet terms and what they mean (E.g. cookies, virus)
